No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the number one poker contender on the globe by most of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His papa taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wanted to discover every little thing he possibly could about the game. Phil would tell his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the negative feedback from others kill his goal of being one of the strongest poker competitors in the world.

Phil began playing intently after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his game at the casinos in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a learning opportunity and coming away with a win was not a normal outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. Phil made a decision to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an undying love for the game of poker. He says that he is learning every day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making mistakes in each game of poker and always strives to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
