Online High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

December 18th, 2019 at 6:25

Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only one to make it to the closing poker table in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. He won a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest gamblers in the world. While gambling on net poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. Gus regularly competes in the 200/400 NL maximum buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen more often than not buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very weak. He waits patiently for a good hand and then goes all-in. I know Hansen is a great poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is flat broke, he has no reason to play at the game with the min buy-in.

Buying in for the min takes a majority of the ability out of deep stack poker. Gus is supposed to be one of the best players in the world but he cannot buy in for the total amt.. I think tv can skew our view of the real world sometimes. The best poker players in the world may be guys you have will not have heard of before. Gus can be seen participating in online poker on Full Tilt. He normally plays in high stakes omaha high and texas holdem. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he use his abilities in money games?
