Online poker has become globally famous lately, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, stretches back in reality a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years numerous variants on the original poker game have been created, including some games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to chemin de fer than old guard poker, in that the players bet against the bank rather than each other. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little bluffing or other types of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up just before the croupier saying "No further wagers." At that instance, both you and the casino and of course all of the other players acquire 5 cards. Once you have observed your hand and the casino’s 1st card, you need to either make a call bet or surrender. The call bet’s amount is akin to your beginning wager, which means that the risks will have doubled. Bowing out means that your wager goes directly to the casino. After the bet is the conclusion. If the casino does not have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, with a figure on par with the ante. If the house does have ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand beats the casino’s hand. The casino pony’s up chips even with your bet and controlled odds on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
